Dr. Fentiman grew up in Monument, and she is excited to be back in the Springs area. Dr. Fentiman obtained both her Bachelor's degree in Biology (2007) and her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (2009) from Colorado State University. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013 from Kansas State University. She then completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at Louisiana State University in 2014 before returning to Kansas State University for her Ophthalmology Specialty Internship and Residency, which was completed in 2018. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2018.
Dr. Fentiman joined the faculty for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University in 2018. During this time she managed clinical cases while teaching clinical year veterinary students, interns, and residents, as well teaching in lectures for 3rd year veterinary students. Her research interests were focused on ocular pharmacology and infectious disease.
Dr. Fentiman values the opportunity to teach owners about their pet’s condition so that they can make informed choices and take an active role in their pet’s care. She is dedicated to finding a balance of appropriate medical and surgical management for cases in order to meet the needs of the individual pet and family. Dr. Fentiman particularly enjoys surgical management of corneal and eyelid abnormalities, as well as the satisfaction of a pet regaining sight after a successful cataract surgery.
