We examine and treat ocular problems affecting dogs, cats, horses
and
exotics.
Our comfortable, aesthetic locations in Denver and Colorado Springs
offer completely dedicated, state-of-the-art ophthalmologic medical
and
surgical services characterized by excellent client communication,
compassionate care, full range of medical and/or surgical options
offered, efficiency, availability, and a cheerful, helpful and
well-educated support staff.
Our state-of-the-art
equipment and treatment protocols include: diode laser for treatment
of glaucoma, preventing retinal detachments
from
progressing, and the destruction of intraocular tumors; ocular
ultrasonography for noninvasively imaging the intraocular and orbital
compartments; phacoemulsification for cataract extraction (over 1100
successful surgeries); insertion of
intraocular artificial lens implants (over 600 PMMA (rigid) and
Acrylic (foldable) intraocular lens implants successfully inserted);
cryotherapy for treatment of extraocular tumors; and,
electroretinography for quantitative evaluation of retinal health,
or
lack thereof.
The Denver office
uses sevoflurane or isoflurane general anesthesia with ventilatory
support, pulse oximetry and blood pressure monitoring
on all patients whereas the Colorado Springs office uses isoflurane
as
the general anesthetic with pulse oximetry and blood pressure
monitoring.
Abundant parking is available and horses can be hauled into both
facilities. The Denver office also has a dedicated equine examination
room with a circular drive to allow ease of entrance and exit
of horse
trailers.
Canine Eye Registration
Foundation (CERF) and Equine Eye Registration Foundation (EERF)
examinations can be scheduled with both offices.
A
reduction in the CERF fees is applied on the first Friday and the
first
Saturday of every month in the Colorado Springs and Denver offices,
respectively.
